An exhibition of 9 artists, participants of I Thessalonica Contemporary Art Biennial (March – September 2007) (Ganina Sharipova, Omid Salehi, Varam Agaziyan, Berang Samazadegan, Andrei Filipov, Ahemt Egit and Shener Ezmen, Leda Papakonstatinou, Grigoris Gudelias and Chris Ciot), is announcing the beginning of collaboration between the Belgrade Cultural Centre and the State Museum of Contemporary Art from Thessalonica.
This exhibition is inspired by Michel Foucault’s thesis that every woman/man follows certain rules which interfere with her/his everyday life. Its aim is to show that art, leaving a museum venue for purpose of conquering some real spaces, turns into heterotopy in the end.
Mobile, flexible, adjustable etc are just a few features of the above mentioned artists. Moving from the local to the global, from the personal to the universal is the common idea of the works to be presented to the Belgrade public.
The exhibition curator is Teodor Markoglu, who is curator of the State Museum of Contemporary Art from Thessalonica. This exhibition is carried out in collaboration with the aforementioned Museum.
