In 2010 several international artists will paddle canoes along the whole length of the river Danube, from the source in Donaueschingen, Germany all the way to the Black Sea in Romania. As they follow the river they will pass through eight countries and and paddle a distance of almost 3000 kilometres.
There are two aims of this extraordinary art project: firstly to enable the co-operation between artists, galleries and art associations along the route to create one enormous artwork, and secondly to allow new artistic networks to develop organically and creatively.
Artists from Baden-Wurttemberg in Germany will begin painting a canvas roll of about thirty metres in length. This roll will be carried throughout the whole journey and artists from all countries along the river Danube will continue the work. As the journey progresses The Danubian Scroll will grow into a truly international artwork... one without borders or national boundaries.
More information about "The Danubian Scroll" you will find at www.donaurolle.zeroarts.de, a serbian web version is included.
