Biography


Stojan Celic was born in 1925. He was a painter, an art critic, professor of Belgrade Academy of Fine Arts and a member of Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences. Aside of oil paintings, he made prints, drawings, mosaics, tapestries, book illustrations, cover design and stage design.

He won several significant prizes and awards. He had a number of solo and group exhibitions in country and abroad. He wrote books: “Between World and a Painting” and “Destiny of Sculpture”. He also wrote a few monographs and a lot of texts about art.
