Uroš Predić
Orlovat
Uros Predic was, together with Paja Jovanovic, the most significant Serbian representative of academic realism. He graduated in Academy of Arts in Vienna, and he spent his life on a relation between Vienna, Belgrade and his hometown Orlovat. He painted mostly portrait, genre and historical themes, but he also painted icons, altarpieces and wall paintings in churches, which is why he is considered to be the last significant church painter in Serbia. He was amongst founders of LADA and ULUS (both Serbian associations of artists), and for a long time he was a president of these association. He was also a member of SANU (Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts)
