In the middle of the postmodernistic destruction and chaos of the everyday life, Predrag Todorovic has the talent and the power and courage to create the clear divine world of Nymphes by his mosaics and pastels, the Pans and Satyrs, of eternal gods and dyonisian mysteries. In the middle of time of the "ugly pictures" he succeeds to discover the beauty of dawns and sunsets, of those moments when the dramatic tension of our image of the world is being interrupted and all the controversies solved in somewhere again found the accords of the Orfei lyra; when in the mythologic illumination of the consilliation of light and darkness all the things are being connected and in al! of us revives the interrupted Orphei and sounds long ago forgotten melodies of the Marsia's flute.

In this world the silhouettes of the realty world is lost like in dreams, so his beings become the inhabitants of some other new mythic reality in which there is neither time I I I nor space.

It is not accidentally at all that Todorovic makes choice for artistic creation: the ancient mosaic technic, which is, according to the tradition being found in palaces, temples and mausoleums; therefore in spaces which by their purposes suggest a happy life; something beyond this world, where the lateral light is in service of the mathaphysic of the general principles of the life.

On the Todorovic's mosaics and pastels the light comes out from its own things, which produces a mystic light to all his scenaries. But this is not a cold nordic mistic. This is already wormth of the mediteranian orgy mysteries, the mystic which is produced from the enthusiasm and the fullfiilness of the life.

The world which is created by Predrag Todorovic reminds us on the landscapes of Claude Laurens and Poussin, a certain kind of Onhyric vision of Custave Mauraut are also present there; you will feel also the presence of fantstic light of Rembrandt and Turner. But these great examples did not destroy the originality of the world. On the contrary.

Todorovic's mosaics and pastels belong to our time. The persons from dreams and antic legends are only the cause for the artist to express his own sensations of the world: and it creates a new legend, a new beauty, some future myth beyond this world necessary today so much to the contemporary artists.
